The Emmbrook is an academic school with a proud reputation for the care and guidance we provide to all of our students. Our aim is to provide every child with the skills and qualifications they require to make a positive contribution to society.
Our academic targets set by the Governing Body reflect the aspiration and ambition we have to move upwards through the top 25% of schools in England.
Academic Targets for 2014:
Our target this year is to ensure that at least 70% of all year 11 students achieve at least 5 GCSE passes at grades A*-C, including both English and Maths. Within this target there is a clear objective to further improve the percentage of grade A* and A grades achieved as well as reducing the number of children who achieve 4 or 5 A*-C pass grades not including both Maths and English.
Academic Targets for 2015:
Whilst we recognise that the exam system is changing and OfQual are requiring examination boards to raise the “pass marks”, our target is to ensure at least 75% of all year 11 students achieve at least 5 GCSE passes at grades A*-C, including both English and Maths. This is the current year 10 cohort. Indications from monitoring and publication of external GCSE modules show that this is a realistic target.
