Hot Chocolate with the Head
Every week, a few students are selected to have hot chocolate with Mr McSweeney. These students are chosen if they have demonstrated our core values of Family, Ambition, Integrity and Respect. Below are some Year 8 students who personify these values.
The incredibly successful art department runs lessons for all students Y7-9. They cover a range of art forms and benefit from excellent facilities. They also run a very popular, and successful, GCSE course as well as Fine Art at A Level.
Business and Economics
This popular subject offers a GCSE in Business as well as a Cambridge National in Marketing and Enterprise at KS4. In Sixth Form they run A Level Business as well as A Level Economics.
Our successful Drama department have 2 fully equipped studios and run several performances each year. Some of these are focussed for exam classes and one is a a whole school production
The History department are home to some of the most inspirational teachers in the school. They use their passion to develop an understanding of history and the lessons that can be taught.
Our popular music department teach music to years 7-9 and the ability to run GCSE. Several key concerts are held throughout the year including the Christmas Carol Concert, the lower school concert, upper school concert and the highlight of the calendar, the Summer Concert. The department even boasts record executives amongst its alumni!
Now with the newly opened all weather, 3G pitch - the PE department can run a variety of sports and opportunities for the students. They run hugely popular GCSE and A Level courses as well as extra curricular opportunities most evenings.
Our Physics, Chemistry and Biology teachers enjoy great success from Y7 through to Y11 with ever improving GCSE results. They also offer very successful courses at A Level for all aspiring scientists.
Some students require help and support from different agencies, as well as in school. We have a designated area where these students can meet and be supported as well as somewhere to come if there are any issues.
