Y7 Football

Mr Patten's match report

From the very first training session, I always knew our year 7 football squad showed potential and they really showed their worth in their first ever fixture for Emmbrook at the Bohunt 5-A-Side tournament.

It was a rocky start against a very strong Maiden Erlegh losing 2-0, but the boys started to find their feet as they then showed their worth against LVS with a high scoring 2-2 result thanks to contributions from Joel Watson and Lewis Taylor.

The boys continued to show their strong efforts with a 1-1 draw against the hosts, Bohunt thanks to a great effort from Kameron McNamara. The goal conceded at the end was very unfortunate.

The boys were both challenged defensively and also slightly unlucky in the game against Garth Hill College with a stalemate 0-0.

We then definitely finished with a high showing fantastic pressure and attitude with a 5-0 win over Altwood thanks to goals from Joel Watson, Lewis Taylor and a hat trick from Kameron McNamara.

Out of all the 6 teams in the tournament against other schools with players who play at high levels, we finished 4th with 6 points. We have given our man of the tournament to Kameron McNamara for his effort in front of goal making it pivotal to our performances.

If you see any of the following please make sure you congratulate them. They have really done the school proud:

Spike Holdway – GK

Joel Watson – CB

Elliot Lewis – CB

Will Jones CB

Danny Jordan – CM

Lewis Taylor – CM

Kamron McNamara – ST

Lewis Makepiece – ST
