Bank of England Visit

Andrew Dyer from the Bank of England talks to Business and Economics students.

Business and Economics students in Y11-13 were given a talk by Andrew Dyer from the Bank of England this morning.

Andrew works in the Prudential Regulation Authority and helps regulate retail banking.
Andrew discussed the main role of the Bank of England and how Brexit may affect their decision making.

Whilst the important job of 'keeping an even keel' through the use of interest rates was discussed, Andrew also talked about the processing of bank notes and brought £3000 of cash with him. Sadly the money was old notes that had been shredded!

We were delighted and grateful that Andrew took time out of his busy schedule to talk to us and share the various opportunities that the Bank of England has for employment.
