PTA
Welcome to The Emmbrook School PTA
The PTA creates opportunities for parents, carers, teachers and staff to connect and work together to foster a collaborative school culture. Fundraising is one of the most visible roles of the PTA, and the money raised often goes towards things that are not covered by the school’s standard budget.
Our aim is to support the staff and students at our school by fundraising and donating the funds back to the school via teacher bids. We can do this by:
- Supporting staff activities, including bid proposals for additional funding and St. Paul's Christmas Concert

- Supporting student activities
- Sports Day colour run and Year 7 disco
- Fundraising activities
- Gift Aid support, Annual quiz night, Wokingham Half Marathon bag drop off, Wokingham Winter Carnival chocolate tombola and more.
Please refer to our Facebook page for upcoming events.

The Committee
The Committee are nominated and elected at the AGM at the beginning of each academic year. As per the Constitution, the Committee must consist of 3 Trustees – The Chair, The Treasurer and The Secretary. In addition, the committee also consists of the Headteacher, 1 member of staff and a selection of parent volunteers. All Committee Members are Trustees in the eyes of the Charity Commission. The PTA is a registered charity.
The core Committee for the year 2025/2026 is as follows:
- Co-Chairs– Minu Beena Sisupal & Kathryn Curran
- Secretary – Anika Watson (Interim)
- Treasurer – Nicki Ilbrey (Emma Leigh from Sept ‘26)
The staff members are: Mr N McSweeney (Headteacher); teachers represent the school on rotation.
There are additional roles on the Committee that can be useful to fill if we have enough volunteers – Second-hand school Uniform Co-ordinator & Communications Officer (Social media/ Newsletters). If you are interested in joining the Committee, please contact the PTA.
To be able to successfully run a PTA committee for a school the size of The Emmbrook School, we require a minimum of 5 parent/carer volunteers. The volunteers support events throughout the year and may also attend committee meetings in the lead-up to events. We have a WhatsApp group for all volunteers supporting the PTA on a casual basis. Please do let us know if you are interested in helping with events.
The more volunteers we have either on the committee or as supporters of the PTA events, the more fundraising we can do, so all help is gratefully appreciated.
You can contact the Committee at [email protected] or via the Facebook Page
