Open Evening & Tours
Save the date: Open Evening - Wednesday 16th September 2026
For information on our 6th Form open evening - click here
Tours will begin from the 10th of September (book here). Tours start at 9.00am and last around 90 minutes. You'll have the chance to see students and sixth formers actively engaged in lessons. The tour is led by Mr McSweeney and assisted by other senior leaders. It is a really good opportunity to see the school in full swing on a particularly normal day! We always advise having your children join the tour to start their familiarity early as we find it really helps with transition.
In previous years the tours have proved exceptionally popular and we will look to run more if demand is there.
We also have our Open Evening on the 16th September. The school will be open for tours or perusal from 6pm, you can choose to walk yourself around or have a student tour guide show you around. Mr McSweeney will be giving a talk at 6.00pm, 6.45pm and 7.30pm in which he will share the journey of the school and all our recent successes. Please click the time slot to book your place!
We are always very excited to showcase our school and the successes of our students and we can’t wait to show you our vision and values.

Message from Mr McSweeney (Headteacher)

Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
I am delighted to welcome you to The Emmbrook School. As a father of two (both at secondary school), I am acutely aware that choosing the right school is such a significant decision. This page will offer you a digital introduction to The Emmbrook.

Every September, I select a quote that sums up our ambition for the year ahead; this year
“The needs of the one outweigh the needs of the many" (Captain Kirk)
It’s important to me that we all work hard to support our vulnerable and disadvantaged students. If we are getting it right for them, everyone in the school benefits from the development of resources, focus and engagement.
I hope to meet you in one form or another in the coming months, via our tours, during the open evenings or at one of my online morning meetings for parents. Information regarding all these events will be released soon. In the meantime, if I can assist you personally, then please do contact me ([email protected]).
The schools in Wokingham are excellent, that should make this process easier, but somehow it makes it harder! Good luck with choosing the school that is right for you.
Best wishes,
Nick McSweeney
