During the Spring Term of Year 9, our students choose their options subjects for the courses that they will study in Years 10-11. These qualifications will enable them to progress on to further study within our Sixth Form or at college. We will be supporting your child to make well-informed choices and appreciate your support with this vital process.

Curriculum Overview

Core Subjects

Options Subjects

All students will complete the following GCSEs:

  • English Language
  • English Literature
  • Maths
  • Combined Science (worth two GCSEs) or Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Alongside these, all students will continue to study physical education and cultural studies.

Students will choose four subjects from a wide range of GCSE and vocational courses.

GCSE: Fine Art, Business, Classical Civilisation (after school only) Computer Science, Design & Technology, Drama, Media Studies, French, Geography, History, Music, Physical Education, Religious Studies and Three Dimensional Design.

Vocational: Creative Media Production, Hospitality & Catering, Marketing & Enterprise and Sport Science

Each option subject has further information published within the options subjects section of the website at the bottom of this page there is also a leaflet explaining the benefits of the EBACC. Furthermore, we look forward to seeing you all at the Online Options Event on Wednesday 3rd February. The event will start with a presentation at 7pm, which will explain the options process in full.
